Make Stirling a Connected Constituency

Many people in rural Stirling have trouble with slow, ineffective broadband. This makes it difficult to work and live in rural areas, which in turn puts a stopper on growth in these areas.

Together with Minister Matt Hancock, I am working to spread faster broadband speeds across Stirling. I have also met with providers EE, BT, and Briskona, so I knows exactly what needs to be worked on in order to give people in rural areas superfast broadband.

Likewise, 4G is slow or non-existent for many people living in rural areas.

Kerr supports better Mobile Phone roaming in rural areas

Mobile Phone roaming in rural Scotland is notoriously bad, with many black spots across the country where you cannot access a network.

"Roaming" is the term used when your mobile phone is using data on a mobile network, away from your home network, while you're abroad. 

Visiting Kilbryde with Briskona Broadband

Wonderful to join Jamie from Briskona Broadband at their new broadband mast in Kilbride, north of Doune. This mast, supported by the local community, will cover 200 rural homes with satellite broadband.

Today, I called my first Adjournment debate, giving me the opportunity to set out my case in full for easier access to Community Broadband for Scotland's communities.

Finding out more about the Wireless Broadband Service being offered by Briskona, at one of their installations north of Stirling. 

Briskona are continuing to extend their network into Rural Stirling, giving people in rural areas the opportunity to access faster broadband.
