The 5th June 2023 marked 300 years since the birth of Adam Smith. As one of the figures of the Scottish Enlightenment, it was only right that the Scottish Parliament reflected on his work. Smith argued that the right regulation, which he described as limited but effective, empowers society. In my reflection, I asked if the Scottish Parliament upholds this standard when we debate regulation today.
