Scotland’s sentencing system is deliberately dishonest.
Offenders are routinely released after serving less than 50% of their sentence and can now be released after serving just 30% of the sentence imposed.
The Scottish Conservatives know this is wrong.
Prisoners should, by default, serve the sentence handed down by the court in full.
