Stephen Kerr, MP for Stirling, today met with the Secretary of State for Scotland on the Stirling City Region Deal. They discussed progress on the negotiations for the City Deal and the need to ensure that the entire Stirling Council area feels the benefits of what will be an immense investment in the Stirling Economy.
The UK Government announced last Autumn it’s support for the City Deal and negotiations over the detail of this have been ongoing since. The meeting between Stephen Kerr and the Secretary of State was a positive step forward.
Stephen Kerr, MP for Stirling said: “The Stirling City Region Deal will be a huge investment in our local economy and will represent a huge vote of confidence in the future of our area. I will work tirelessly to ensure that this deal is delivered. The UK Government remains fully committed to the deal. Stirling Council officers have made a fantastic job of laying the groundwork for this and should be commended for their efforts. I would be happier if the Scottish Government showed an equal level of commitment on this issue.”
