Mobile Phone roaming in rural Scotland is notoriously bad, with many black spots across the country where you cannot access a network.
"Roaming" is the term used when your mobile phone is using data on a mobile network, away from your home network, while you're abroad.
We need to see action on this; which is why I signed a letter alongside almost 100 other MPs calling on the Secretary of State for Digital affairs to ensure that effective roaming is a requirement of the network providers. A lack of co-ordination between those providers has seriously impacted rural areas, including many in Stirling. Without adequate roaming areas become denuded of tourists, and there is a serious impact on the local economy.
Rural areas must be brought up to speed.
